I am running for School Board because I have advocated for Inglewood Unified since it entered state receivership. I have worked with state and local policymakers and agencies, followed the district’s finances and recovery, and pushed for accountability because I want the district run in the best interests of its students. Inglewood Unified is now at a critical turning point. As local control returns and the current Trustee Area 2 representative steps down, the board will lose nearly 14 years of experience at a time when experience and institutional knowledge will matter. I am prepared to step in and do the job. I bring years of knowledge of IUSD, decades of management and problem-solving experience, and an understanding of education policy and school finance. The next board must protect the district’s financial stability while improving student achievement, supporting strong teachers, demanding accountability and giving parents and the community a meaningful voice. I didn’t decide to run and then start learning about IUSD. I’ve been doing the work for years.
